At Chavez, strong academics are rewarded with tons of fun and celebration. Chavez Middle scholars ended a week of testing with a field day. This took place after a 5 week intensive focus on MAP readiness. Scholars qualified for field day by demonstrating Chavez core values, attendance and participation in class. To top off field day, scholars enjoyed a BBQ, Icecream truck and also had the opportunity to participate in a pie toss on their teachers and principal.

Our mission is to prepare scholars to succeed in competitive colleges and universities. Data supports our belief that exposing our scholars to the rigor of college-level course work with college professors translates into higher success rates for our scholars. Because of the generosity of our donors on Giving Tuesday, we can grow our dual enrollment programming and impact the lives of our scholars and the generations that will follow them.
DC Government will be paying for residential internet service for SNAP and TANF eligible households with PK3-12th grade students provided by Comcast and RCN.
