The showcase will take place at Chavez Schools.
ORE welcomed Cesar Chavez Public Policy Charter School students who visited the John A. Wilson Building on Friday, May 3. As part of ORE’s community engagement efforts, the visit served as an informational meeting where students learned more about government operations in the District, the role and responsibility of the Office of the City Administrator (OCA) and how public policy is informed. Students provided recommendations on ways to becoming a more racially equitable DC and also engaged with Government colleagues from the Office of Gun Violence Prevention (OGVP) and Internal Services, which oversees government operations.
During this year's spring break, Chavez Schools embarked on a mission to ensure that no student went hungry. Spearheaded by dedicated staff members and fueled by a collective commitment to serving the community, the Spring Break Food Giveaway initiative was born.
