For Capitol Hill Families:

We want you and your scholar to continue to be part of the Chavez family. Every current Capitol Hill scholar is guaranteed a spot at Parkside High School. Everything you love about Chavez Schools - the caring teachers and staff, the supportive environment, the high expectations and strong college counseling - will transfer over to Parkside, where we are investing in a wonderful staff and program at the modern building we own at 3701 Hayes Street, NE, in the Kenilworth neighborhood of Ward 7. We will offer tours, shadow days and other opportunities for your scholar to get to know the great things happening at Parkside High School.

AGAIN, YOUR SCHOLAR IS GUARANTEED A SPOT AT PARKSIDE HIGH SCHOOL NEXT YEAR. Please disregard the instructions sent out last week about needing to apply through My School DC in order to secure a spot. You no longer need to complete an MSDC application. Instead, families will simply complete the Parkside High School re-enrollment process – including an Intent to Re-Enroll form,  InfoSnap Registration and residency paperwork - this can all be completed at Parkside High School.

For scholars who do not plan to re-enroll at Parkside High School, you had the right to apply to any charter or out-of-boundary school by completing the My School DC application by February 1 at www.myschooldc.org. You may also find your in-boundary school here: http://dcatlas.dcgis.dc.gov/schools/. Please contact Ms. Chapman, who will be available to help families during the transfer process at 202-398-2230 or michelle.chapman@chavezschools.org.
