Cesar Chavez participates in the My School DC common lottery. Only the Parkside High School, Capitol Hill High School and Chavez Prep campuses participate in the common lottery.  We only accept this application. To apply to Cesar Chavez click here. Rank Cesar Chavez as your top choice!

Lottery results will be released March 30, 2019 for the SY2019-20. You will receive an email, mailed letter or you can log into your family account and click on the “View the lottery results” button. A Chavez staff member will also call and email with information about completing the registration process.

The enrollment deadline for matched families is May 1, 2019. After that, your spot is no longer guaranteed.

If you missed the application deadline for the current school year, please complete the My School DC post-lottery application. Post-lottery applicants are added to the bottom of the waitlist below lottery applicants. An exception to this is if the applicant is the sibling of a current student, s/he will receive a preference and move up the waitlist.

Any child applying after the lottery deadline is added to the Chavez Schools waitlist. You will be contacted by phone and by email when a space for your child becomes available. You may also call and check your child’s status. We check the waitlist and send out acceptances daily.

If your child was matched with Cesar Chavez through the lottery, you must enroll your child – in person, at the correct campus by May 1, 2019 in order to guarantee your seat.

  • Complete Chavez’s online registration form
  • Visit your enrolling campus in person
  • Submit valid proof of D.C. residency (D.C. Residency Verification Form)
  • Submit health and dental forms, transcripts and other documents
  • Visit an Open House or schedule a Shadow Day by clicking here.

Chavez Schools partners with Risse Brothers of College Park for school uniforms.  They are located at 9700 Martin Luther King Jr Highway Suite B Lanham, MD 20706.  You can also order uniforms online at www.rissebrothers.com.  Risse Brothers can be reached by phone at 301-220-1985 or by fax at 301-220-0368.

Campuses will provide information on uniform sales to all families.  Please contact the campus directly as to the cost and times of the uniform roadshows.
