The My School DC Application is now open. Please apply to Chavez Schools and make sure to select us as your #1 choice!

Please check back here for updates on important enrollment dates and information for the 2019-20 school year.


The recruitment timeline for the 2019-20 school year:

  • December 10, 2018: My School DC Common Application Opens. Apply online at www.myschooldc.org
  • February 1, 2019: Priority deadline for high school applications
  • March 1, 2019: Priority deadline for middle school applications
  • March 30, 2019: Families will be notified about their lottery results and
    waitlist positions via mail, email and the My School DC website.
  • April 1, 2019: Chavez Schools will reach out to all matched families with their
    SnapCode to complete the online registration form.
  • April 1, 2019 - May 1, 2019:
    • Online registration open to current and new scholars
    • Provide proof of DC residency and submit Immunization, Medical & Dental forms
  • June 30-August 10, 2019: Submit 4th Quarter report cards (Middle School) or Transcript (High School)

Follow the steps listed below to successfully enroll at Chavez Schools!

Campuses are open starting in April, Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm to receive your required documents. Each campus will also be open late one night a week in April (more details coming soon). Chavez will also be participating in "Enrollment Saturday" on April 27, 2019 (coming soon). 

NEW Chavez Scholars follow these steps:

  1. Visit Chavez Schools
  2. Apply to Chavez Schools through My School DC
  3. Complete online registration once you receive your code:
  4. Enroll at Chavez Schools by submitting required paperwork (information coming soon)
    • This step must be completed in person at the campus where your student is enrolling.
    • Forms will be available for you at the school.
    • Be sure to bring your proof of residency when you go to the school!
Returning Chavez Scholars follow these steps:

  1. Complete online registration using your code:
  2. Enroll at Chavez Schools by submitting required paperwork (information coming soon)
    • This step must be completed in person at the campus where your student is re-enrolling.
    • Forms will be available for you at the school.
    • Be sure to bring your proof of residency when you go to the school!
